FIRE | Freelance Investigative Reporters + Editors Virtual Booth

Who We Are

For nearly 15 years, Great Barrington-based FIRE has worked nationally and internationally to help marginalized freelance reporters do the painstaking and time-intensive work of producing investigative stories in the public interest, in fortification of democracy's immune system.

What We Do

FIRE's grants, legal services, and reporting tools have helped unaffiliated reporters investigate a wide range of topics, from harmful fish farms to corrupt elder guardians, for outlets like the Dallas Morning News, the Boston Globe, the Guardian, Mother Jones, the New Yorker, and the BBC.
