Help Berkshire United Way Review Requests For Funding

We have an opportunity for volunteers to evaluate proposals from nonprofit organizations seeking grant funding from Berkshire United Way.

The time commitment is approximately 15 hours from March through May. This includes one 2-hour training session, a review of between 4-5 applications on your own time, and approximately 2 meetings with your review team to discuss applications and finalize your recommendations. Each application will receive both a programmatic and a financial review.

Please note: Applicants or anyone associated with organizations requesting funding will be unable to review and rank proposals. All reviewers will be asked to complete a Code of Ethics and a conflicts of interest form. Thank you for considering your participation in this important activity.

Tentative review schedule

Due to COVID-19, all meetings will be virtual and held via Zoom

  • Mid-March proposal reviewer training
  • Proposals distributed to review teams by March 28
  • Scores due – April 19
  • Small review team meetings start week of April 26
  • Large review team meeting – week of May 10
