A statement from Berkshire United Way and Northern Berkshire United Way

We recognize that our nation is in turmoil right now and we too are heartbroken following the death of George Floyd. As violence erupted in many communities this weekend, we were proud to see Berkshire residents come together in peaceful protest.

In response to these recent events and in the face of an unprecedented health and economic crisis, Berkshire United Way and Northern Berkshire United Way remain committed to our missions of uniting people, organizations and resources to support our most vulnerable populations and build stronger communities together.

We aspire to be part of productive conversations with our neighbors and community leaders and seek solutions that benefit all of our citizens equally. We are prepared to listen, learn, and take action to ensure our community is inclusive, fair, and just.

Today and in the future, it is incumbent upon us to work together in a United Way to make sure there is equity, justice, respect and opportunities for all in Berkshire County.
