Elizabeth (Liz) has spent the last 20 years pursuing opportunities that blended her professional skill set with her passion for helping others, particularly those who are often overlooked, marginalized, or underrepresented. She has excelled in administrative roles making systems and processes more efficient, built high-impact communication and content strategies, and developed and empowered volunteer leadership teams to serve their communities across nonprofit, higher education, and faith-based environments.

In 2012, while volunteering with Mercy Ministries, Inc, Liz and two close friends recognized an opportunity to support local nonprofits through their company 26 Letters. A compelling story of the impact of that organization’s mission became the inspiration for a unique product whose net profits would directly fund their continued operations. Their products were able to amplify the voices of those who benefit from the nonprofit services, raised thousands of dollars to sustain their operations, and proved that we all have an opportunity to make a difference in our community.

This experience laid the foundation for pursuing a new career path as the Workplace Campaign and Volunteer Specialist at Berkshire United Way. She’s excited to inspire others to support their communities through philanthropic initiatives, develop volunteer opportunities with our funded partners, and engage with the people, businesses, and organizations that help Berkshire County thrive.

Liz earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Eastern Nazarene College in 2008. She recently visited Alaska, a milestone achievement completing her pursuit of visiting all 50 states. After pursuing city life over the past 25 years in various states, she has (temporarily) settled in the bucolic countryside of Upstate New York, enjoying a slower pace among her wildflower-filled meadow with her dog, Bennett, and her family nearby. When the flowers become covered in snow, she enjoys skiing all over New England or hibernating at home with a book or puzzle.
