Advocacy Day

Berkshire United Way, through our Early Childhood Impact Council, is developing an early childhood advocacy plan for Berkshire County. We are focusing on two major areas – increasing access to early education and care programs through preschool expansion and increasing compensation for early educators. We know from our work that both of these areas will lead to increased employment opportunities for families, and higher levels of school achievement for children. We will hear from a state advocacy group (Strategies for Children), a local business leader, a local director, a preschool teacher, and a parent on the issues regarding access to childcare and fair compensation for early educators.
